New Year’s Eve tips
Glenelg has long been held as Adelaide’s beach holiday location. The very relaxed nature of Glenelg as a beach city is captured as one looks west to the Gulf St Vincent ocean off South Australia. It is a gorgeous active area with many cafes and restaurants and a focus on recreation and the outdoor. For those visitors wanting racing recreation, the Morphettville racecourse is also close by. For NYE, the Glenelg Pier Hotel New Year’s Eve party is a popular choice!
We sent some members of the NYE Team along to check out this pre-eminent venue along the Glenelg beach, and what they found was quite special. A venue with lots of options was the overriding feedback! Three restaurants with complimentary varying function options as well. The hotel is right on the beach and there are not too many NYE locations better than a beach party! And the Glenelg New Year’s sunset is glorious!
Our NYE Concierge team ordered some tempting dishes of food. And upon the plates arrival they smiled at the taste of anticipation for the superb quality food. It would be fair to say this level of dining hospitality would be served at this hotels New Year’s Eve function. The NYE team selected the fresh seafood option of oysters, and by all reports, they were divine.

Car Parking and drop off tips:
For patrons staying at the Hotel, they can have car parking arranged. But note, that if you have to be out and about in a car, the roads of this Adelaide suburb adjoining the beach can get busy on New Year’s Eve. We all know, when you are wanting to relax, it’s best not to have to worry about traffic. Another option for transport is the Trams that come from Adelaide to Glenelg. A tram stop is within walking distance.
